Question 1

Which departments within the company are integrated within the Order-to-Delivery process?
Answer: By using the SAP Business One application, the Sales/Operation Department and the Warehouse/Logistics Department are involved to the Order-to-Delivery process.

Question 2

Which steps are included in the Order-to-Delivery process?
Answer: Since the SAP Business One application was fully support on all the items data and customer information. While the Sales representative receives the order from customer, they will use the application to check the inventory status, to ensure the item are in stock. Then they could create a Sales Order by simple steps including item code, customer account and the date of delivery.
The Warehouse Department will alert the order quickly, after creating Delivery Order, arrange the goods by Pick & Pack Manager, then the warehouse will prepare Delivery Note and Packing Slip for the delivery. After the courier pick up the delivery, the Sales representative could able to check the status updated on the SAP. They could send shipment advice to their customers.

Question 3

What factors would you consider when deciding whether ERP is suitable or not for a small business?
Answer: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is a packaged business software which is used to collect and manage information across different functional areas in an organization.
To deciding the business is suitable for the ERP or not, we should understand how ERP systems improve the effectiveness of information systems in organizations.
Automate and integrate the majority of its business processes. It would be able to integrate and share common data and practices across the enterprise. The same data to be used by multiple functions and business processes. For example, Account department input the data for the payment status, the Sales department could able to check the payment status and shipping department could assure they could able to release the shipment.

It helps to streamline the orders operation, to manage the inventory level. It could integrate the deparment between, the infornt Sales person could check the order status easily, it is more efficient to manage all the orders and keep post to their customers. For the warehouse, they could have a forecasting picture to manage the inventory and differentiate the order priority.
ERP can even input the cost of the item, order record, it shows a big help on the business management. Produce and access information in a real-time environment.
